This 20-page publication provides a brief overview of enviornmental management concepts and tools, highlights economic and other benefits of environmental management systems (EMS), and offers a step-by-step guide to implementing an EMS and obtaining EMAS registration.
The original version of the Guide, EMAS 2000, was developed for the countries of Southern Europe by the International Network for Environmental Management (INEM). Each version of the EMAS Put Simply guide has been adapted to the target country's circumstances and includes examples from local industry.
The guide is available in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Greek, Polish, Estonian and Hungarian.
