Baltic Network on Environmental Management (BALTEMA)
The BALTEMA project (2002-2005) was initiated by INEM and funded by the DBU. The main goals of the project are to raise awareness among Baltic enterprises about the advantages of environmental management and to build up capacity to implement them.
The specific project goal is to support the establishment of a non-profit business associations for environmental management in the Baltic States. This associations will promote the introduction, implementation and use of environmental management through information and education in all sectors of the economy.
The Baltema project promotes the use ofa couple of environmental management tools such as Ecomapping; The project also foster the SMEs' efforts through ISO 14001 certification by editing an easy guide to ISO 14001, registring certified companies and consultants and coaching projects for EMS self implementation.
The main partners of the project are KÖVET, SEI-T, LPPC, APINI and EMAI.
