U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
The mission of the Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment. EPA leads the US environmental science, research, education and assessment efforts. The EPA's main activities are to develop and enforce regulations, to offer financial assistance, to perform environmental research, to sponsor voluntary partnerships and programs to publish information and to set up further environmental education.
